Government Accredited Online Colleges in Oklahoma

Since the Online College of Oklahoma was founded in 1998, it has offered distance learning resources for students seeking to earn a degree; so far, there have been 250,000 course enrollments. Today, the Online College provides more than 3,400 online courses for its 18 degree programs, making it a great resource for anyone who is looking to get a degree while living in the state of Oklahoma.

As an added bonus, there is the Reach Higher Program in Oklahoma, offering undergraduate degree programs via nine universities and 14 community colleges within Oklahoma. It also assists students financially through Project Finish Line, rewarding those who are close to graduating.

More than 20 Oklahoma universities offer distance learning degrees, such as Southwestern Oklahoma State University, which provides several formats for its nine degree programs, including interactive television and webinars. These methods are tailored to fit the needs of the students.

The cost of tuition rose in Oklahoma recently, but much lower than national average, rising only 7.5 percent between the years 2008 and 2011. On the other hand, two year public schools had a more significant rise, experiencing a 32 percent increase between the years 2004 and 2014. Oklahoma decreased higher education funding by 21.3 percent between the years 2008 and 2014, which is partially cause for the rise in tuition.

Although the costs increased, there has been a 13 percent increase in enrollment since 2002. Two year universities had a 5.9 percent increase in 2010 while universities saw a spike as well the same year.
