If you are trying to decide whether or not it is a good destination for a new business, you're in luck. There are numerous advantages you can get for choosing Virginia has the home of your business.

The state has one of the highest per capita incomes per household in the US. This equates to a high spending power for the residents, which is good for businesses. The primary challenge here, though, is that small businesses might find it difficult to compete with big name brands and businesses that are headquartered here.

Virginia State is located in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern regions of the US. Officially known as the Commonwealth of Virginia, the state is known as "the birthplace of the nation" and the "Mother of Presidents." This is because eight of the previous presidents of the country were from Virginia, including four of the first five presidents.

Today, the state is widely known as the home base for the United States Navy's Atlantic Fleet. Its best two attractions are Monticello and Mt. Vernon. Its largest and most populous city is Virginia Beach. Its capital city Richmond on the other hand is home to some of the most extensive Civil War memorabilia (found at American Civil War Museum) and impressive American Revolution sites (St. John's Church).

The state's proximity to the country's capital Washington, D.C. has supported its economic growth. It benefits greatly from the distribution of federal funds and has one of the biggest incomes per capita in Southern region. The state's economic driving force is mainly the federal government (i.e. military institutions). Goods and services, such as agriculture and farming only account for a tiny fraction.
